Environmental Sustainability – For Our Customers

We invest in innovation and R&D to provide a broad range of solutions that can inspire more sustainable products, applying a lifecycle-based approach to product development. This reveals opportunities for material source reduction and enhanced design. We are able to help customers make informed decisions about product sustainability and raw material selection with our Avery Dennison® greenprint tool.


Christopher Raeburn: We collaborate with emerging designer, Christopher Raeburn, on various sustainability initiatives across his collections, featuring core branding and high-definition woven labels made from recycled yarns.

Sustainable Apparel Coalition: As a founding member of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), we contributed to SAC’s Higg Index, a tool for understanding the environmental and labor impacts of apparel and footwear products. 


Sustainable Angle: Our partnership with this organization has provided us with inside knowledge on sustainable materials and future fabrics that are in development across the world. From there, RBIS determines how those materials align with our goals and guiding principles. We then have the opportunity to build these into our innovation pipelines to develop branding solutions for our customers.


Social Responsibility – Throughout Our Organization and Supply Chain

We are committed to working with our business and supplier partners to promote fair labor standards throughout our organization and the supply chain. In 2011, the Avery Dennison Foundation launched a new Global Grantmaking Initiative to support nonprofits that advance the causes of education and sustainability in the communities where we live and work.

  • Avery Dennison Foundation:  Our grants support programs ranging from scholarships for our employees and their families to providing valuable life skills in the communities where we operate. In 2015, we partnered with the Avery Dennison Foundation and Round Table of India to provide training opportunities in English proficiency and career development via RBIS’ Community Life Skills program. We were able to donate a fully equipped computer lab and eight classrooms at the KORA School located in Bangalore, India.
